PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide redundant constitution holding the high reliability of a control system even if a failure occurs in the control bus of an ATM communication equipment. SOLUTION: A first route where a control part 106, a cell processing part 102, an input line terminating part 100 and an output line terminating part 104 are connected by the control bus 108 and the control part 106 controls the cell processing part 102, the input line terminating part 100 and the output line terminating part 104 through the control bus 108 is secured. Then, a second route where the control part, a cell part 105, a cell multiplex part 101, the cell processing part 102, a cell separation part 103 and a de-cell part 107 are connected by an ATM line and the control part 106 controls the cell processing part 102, the input line terminating part 100 and the output line terminating part 104 through the ATM line is secured. Thus, the redundant route of the control bus 106 is realized. At this point, the cell multiplex part, the cell separation part, the cell part and the de-cell part are connected to the control bus.
