PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a reflection type liquid crystal display device to reduce visual angle dependency maintaining a high numerical aperture and increase in an angle of visibility. SOLUTION: An orientation control electrode 13 is distributed between every two columns of display electrodes, and also an orientation control window 22 is distributed between every two columns and every line. In a side which the orientation control electrode 13 and an orientation control window 22 are lining, a diagonal electric field is formed inclining in the same direction of the opposing side, and an orientation of a liquid crystal is controlled with respect to its picture elements in a same direction. Since each picture element is different in preferred visual angle direction, macroscopic visual recognition of them averages luminous intensities and contrast ratios, reducing a visual angle dependency, and increasing an angle of visibility. |
