Covering for artificially formed salt slag heap

Boxes (18) are provided in the cover layer (16) in the area of the flank of the heap. They secure the cover layer against slippage. The lower part of the cover layer located in the boxes is compressed, while the upper part of the cover layer is loosely formed. The compressed and loosely formed parts of the cover layer are preferably 1 m thick. Shallow-rooted plants (20) are planted in the upper part of the cover layer. The drainage layer is formed from coarse-granulated stones, particularly basalt stones (14), with an edge length of 10 cm to 100 cm. The drainage layer is approximately 2 m to 4 m thick, and at least 1.5 m. The cover layer is made of soil rich in clay, plus mussel shells.
