PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reinforce a converter housing without increasing the number of part items while keeping the increase of weight to a minimum. SOLUTION: This housing structure has reinforcing flanges 11 on an outer peripheral edge of an installation flange 6, other portion than connection parts between a converter housing 1 and a cylinder block 2, between arcuate outer edges 9A of bosses 9 of mounting bolt holes 8. A spiral outer rib arranged on an outer wall of the converter housing 1 is extended to the side of the reinforcing flange 11. The extended rib is perpendicularly crossed with the reinforcing flange 11.
