A machine which can take down the support line and the weighting line from a fishing net. In front of the machine there are two guide rollers 1, over which the net is taken. The net is then taken onward via a lower steering rail 2 supported on an adjustable upper steering rail 2, which very precisely takes the net up to a rotating knife 3, which cuts the net free from the lines. At the back of the machine are mounted four rubber rollers 4, which now pull the net to one side and the lines to the other, free from the machine and ready for collection. What is new about the invention is that the net stripper can increase the speed for stripping of fishing nets. Whereas heretofore fishing nets have been stripped by hand, using a pocket-knife, this separation can now be done mechanically. The mechanical processing of nets increases the number of nets which can be stripped per hour by 10 to 15. <IMAGE>
