Improved polymer/polyol and preformed stabilizer systems

Improved polymer/polyol compositions of reduced viscosity and increased solids content comprise a particulate polymer portion dispersed in a liquid base polyol, the particulate polymer portion having been prepared by polymerising ethylenically unsaturated monomer material in the presence of a stabilizer obtained by the polymerisation of ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the presence of the product of partially esterifying an alkoxylated polyol with an unsaturated acid or ester-forming derivative thereof. The invention also claims the stabilizer per se, its production and the production of polymer/polyol compositions using it.
