The air bag module has a gas generator with a bag connected to it. The bag fabric at least partially surrounds and connects to the gas generator casing via a clamp. The gas generator (10) has a clamp (16) on its outer circumferential face (14) to retain the bag cloth around it and connect the generator and bag together. the clamp can be a circumferentially movable preformed tube component (16). The clamp follows the common curvature of the gas generator, bag and tube component through heating the folded components. The inlet opening of the bag can have a pouch (15) circumferentially movable on the casing.
