PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an absorbent having a specific group at a part of the surface of a water-insoluble carrier and capable of efficiently adsorbing and removing a low density lipoprotein and a super low density lipoprotein from a solution containing various lipoproteins. SOLUTION: The objective absorbent is obtained by allowing at least a part of the surface of a water-insoluble carrier to have at least one kind selected from a group of groups of formulas I (R<1> is H, methyl or ethyl;ϕ<1> is an atomic group including an aromatic ring; X is a halogen or a thiol;ϕ<1> X is an atomic group by which a compound of the formula Hϕ<1> X having the logP value of 0-3.2 is provided), II (R2 is H, methyl or ethyl;ϕ<2> is an atomic group including a benzo condensed ring, by which a compound of the formula Hϕ<2> having the logP value of 0-3.2 is provided) and III (R<3> is H, methyl or ethyl;ϕ<3> is an atomic group binding to N, by which a compound of the formula H2 NCOϕ<3> having the logP value of 0-3.2 is provided). The carrier is preferably a hard and wholly porous one.
