FIELD: forestry, in particular, logging on plains and mountain areas. SUBSTANCE: method involves moving logging trailer to felling area upon complete or partial clearing of this area; correcting movement of trailer in the direction of zones with formed log stocks by forced drawing of return cable in mentioned direction, with log stocks being positioned adjacent to underframe in the process of correction of trailer movement; fixing logs on trailer in semi-suspended position by means of binding cables and members. Apparatus has single-drum winch with reversible drive or double-drum winch with pulling and return cables, logging trailer with underframe. Trailer is equipped with members cooperating with devices for lifting these members relative to underframe datum surface. Lifting device is formed as winch mounted on trailer adjacent to underframe or mentioned members are connected with cable directed through guiding pulley to define lifting device. Cable is kinematically coupled with trailer through linear clamp. When lifting device is defined by cable directed through guiding pulley, double-drum main winch is used. Apparatus is further provided with device for drawing off branch of return cable connected with trailer. Drawing device has auxiliary winch with coupling providing kinematic connection with return cable branch and free passage of cable in coupling.
