METHOD OF HANDLING AQUEOUS MOTHER SOLUTION OBTAINED IN ISOLATION OF ASCORBIC ACID

FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: mother solution is concentrated by dissolving low-grade ascorbic acid, after which impurities are adsorbed by activated carbon, purified ascorbic acid is isolated and dried in vacuum at 18-50 C. Before concentration stage, mother solution should be advantageously pretreated with activated carbon. Use of aqueous mother as solvent for low-grade ascorbic acid eliminates laborious and power-consuming water evaporation stage as well as stage of regeneration of ethyl alcohol from water-alcohol mother solution.
