PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic elastomer compsn. improved in mechanical strengths, heat stability, moldability, vibration-damping properties and sound- insulating properties by mixing and kneading crystalline polybutene-1 and/or a butene-1/α-olefin copolymer, butyl rubber and polyisobutylene and partially crosslinking the resultant mixture with an org. peroxide. SOLUTION: 10-40 wt.% crystalline polybutene-1 and/or butene-1/α-olefin copolymer having a melt flow rate of 0.3-60 g/10 min, 60-90 wt.% butyl rubber having an isoprene content of 0.3-3.0 mol.% and 0-30 wt.%, esp. 0-10 wt.%, polyisobutylene having a mol.wt. of 15,000-300,000, pref. 90,000-250,000, are mixed and kneaded at 140-260 deg.C for 1-30 min in the presence of an org. peroxide in an amt. of 0.01-2.0 wt.%, esp. 0.05-1.0 wt.%, of the total rubber components and a crosslinking aid in an amt. of 0.01-4.0 wt.%, esp. 0.05-2.0 wt.%, to be partially crosslinked. An example of the crosslinking aid is N,N'-m- phenylenebismaleimide.
