Water-based emulsion paint for interior and exterior use

A dispersant for emulsion paint consists of a mixture of maleic anhydride/di-isobutylene copolymer with polyphosphate and polyacrylate, each in amounts of 0.1-1 parts by weight (pt. wt.) to 1 pt. wt. copolymer, the product being in partly or completely neutralized form as alkali or ammonium salts. An Independent claim is also included for emulsion paint comprising an aqueous dispersion of polymeric binders, pigments, fillers, dispersants, other additives etc. and water, in which the above mixture is used as the dispersant, with the copolymer, polyphosphate and polyacrylate in amounts of 0.05-10, 0.01-0.5 and 0.05-2 wt% respectively based on the total weight of the paint.
