Bis-trimethylsilyl-carbodiimide (I) is produced by the reaction of cyanamide (II) with hexamethyldisilazane (III). Production of bis-trimethylsilyl- carbodiimide (I) comprises the reaction of cyanamide (II) with hexamethyldisilazane (III) at -10 to 130 deg C, optionally in an organic solvent.
