<p>A piston-like assembly including both ends of the tube, is located in one end of the flexible cartridge tube. The end of the tube and one cylindrical outer edge are joined. The tube and assembly are then moved relatively, causing the free end of the tube to project axially beyond and surround the assembly. The outlet section is then set into the remaining open end of the tube, and edge-bonded with it. An Independent claim is included for the manufacturing equipment. Preferred Features: Bonding is by welding. A cap-like membrane and/or clamping ring is attached to the assembly and/or outlet section. The tube is locally shrunk. The tube may be formed from a strip of material, which is side-edge welded, immediately before making the cartridge. Tubing and assembly are arranged using mounting mandrels. At the start of manufacture, assembly and outlet are placed one above the other on the end of a mandrel, held there by reduced pressure. Relative motion is carried out by longitudinal sliding of the tubing. The tubing is gripped all around its circumference before pushing along. The manufacturing equipment includes a cylindrical mounting element assisting assembly, vacuum equipment, multiple assembly stations, a pneumatically-inflated ring, ultrasonic welding, ring clamping equipment and an extrusion-welding unit.</p> |
