PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with the alignment of an outer shell with an inner shell to reduce production cost. SOLUTION: In a catalyst container 10 comprising cone parts 12 and 13 of a double wall structure each disposed at both the sides of a main body part 11 having and holding a catalyst carrier 15 by way of a mat 14, a pipe body is integrally processed by means of curling, tube expanding, spinning and the like so as to be formed into the cone parts 12 and 13 of a double wall structure each. After these works are completed, the base end of each cone part 12 and 13 is fitted into the main body part 11 to be fixed thereto by welding.
