PURPOSE: The absorbent articles are provided for the sanitary napkins that are reduced a folded tendency on topsheet of sanitary napkins, and are had a pair of flap with zones of differential extensibility. CONSTITUTION: Absorbent articles such as sanitary napkins, panty liners, and incontinence pads are disclosed. The absorbent articles include the undergarment covering components(or "side wrapping elements") for decreasing side flaps (or side pollutions). The sanitary napkins includes a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet joined to the topsheet, an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and backsheet. The flaps or side wrapping elements are folded laterally back outward away from the longitudinal centerline, and freely extend outwardly therefrom, except in at least one region, and preferably two regions, on each flap or side wrapping element. In at least one region, portions at the ends of the flaps or side wrapping elements are secured to the garment facing side of the main body portion.
