PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contrive the prevention of fire due to the spark of welding as well as the normal formation of spiral air flow in a local exhausting device, blowing air out along the front surface of a curved wall, and inducing the same toward the side of the curved wall to form spiral air flow while contaminated air is induced by the spiral air flow to discharge the same, by a method wherein liquid is supplied to the spiral air flow to bring the spiral air flow into humid condition. SOLUTION: The housing 1 of a local exhausting device employed for arc welding work or the like is formed so as to have the shape of a fox having an opening 14 at a side opposed to a back surface wall 12 while a working table is arranged on the bottom unit of the opening 14. An upwardly curved wall 2 is provided inside of the back surface wall 12 and an air blow-off pipe 3 is arranged at the upper end part the curved wall 2. Air blow-out ports 31 blowing air out obliquely downward are formed on the air blow-off pipe 3, and airflow produced by a fan 4 is flown off while simultaneously contaminated air is discharged out of air inducing ports 5 through a duct 51. Liquid supplying devices 6 are provided at the proper places of the working table 15 and spiral air flow B is brought into humid condition by the spray of water drops.
