PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rib excellent in contrast and light emitting efficiency by using a simple recessed plate by hardening a second rib forming material by embedding a first rib formed on a glass substrate in a second recessed plate filled with the second rib forming material. SOLUTION: A first rib forming material 13 composed of a light absorbing material is filled in a groove of a first recessed plate 11 having an inverse shape of a first rib 15. This first rib forming material 13 is transferred to a glass substrate 7 forming an electrode 6. Next, a second rib forming material 14 composed of a light reflecting material is filled in a groove of a second recessed plate 12 wider in a breadth of the groove than the first rib 15. The first rib 15 formed on the glass substrate 7 is embedded in a second rib forming material 14 filled in a second recessed plate 12. After hardening the second rib forming material 14, the second recessed plate 12 is separated to form a rib 18 for covering a side surface of the first rib 15 with the second rib forming material 14 on the glass substrate 7, and next, it is baked to burn an organic component.
