The method involves milling to produce an orthosis or prostheses of the leg, whereby a contour of the human leg (10) is at least partly converted into digital data by scanning with sensor and the digital data are fed into a milling machine for milling the positive model. The contour of the human leg is digitised at least in a predefined region between the back of a foot and a shin bone in the peripheral direction wrt. a lower leg in an angular range less than 360 degrees.
