PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce wear at the beginning part of a slope and reduce backlash of a belt and generation of noise by respectively setting the contact faces of a block with a pulley and the contact faces of the blocks to each other to be in specific coefficients of friction. SOLUTION: Because a block belt is a mechanism transmitting power by friction of a block with a pulley, a first resin layer 10a requires high coefficient of friction to some extent. However, when the coefficient of friction is too high, the block is hardly drawn out from the pulley once wound to be undesirable. From such reason, such material having coefficient of friction in the range of 0.25-0.30 is used for the first resin layer 10a provided on the sides of the block. Meanwhile because between the mutual blocks, namely the front and rear faces contacting with others is required to set the coefficient of friction to be small, the coefficient of friction is set to be under 0.2.
