PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize fuel cost reduction of a burner type ash melting furnace by admixing a specified quantity of waste plastic to ash being melted and feeding the mixture to an ash melting furnace. SOLUTION: An ash melting furnace 1 is provided with a preheating chamber 6 and a melting chamber 7, respectively, on the upstream side and the downstream side of an inclining bottom wall 5. An ash supply unit 2 throws ash A mixed with waste plastic P into an ash hopper 13 from an ash throw-in shoot 12 and a pusher 14 feeds the ash A into the preheating chamber 6 from a bottom opening of the ash hopper 13. The pusher 14 comprises a pusher body 14a disposed retractively in a supply passage 15 coupled to the preheating chamber 6 side from the bottom opening of the ash hopper 13, and a push ring 14b for driving the pusher body 14a to advance or retract. The ash throw-in shoot 12 is branched in reverse V-shape from the central part and provided with openings 12a, 12a opening toward the left and right side walls 13a of the ash hopper 13.
