PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic motor-driven compressor including a compressor oil separated from a compressed fluid and stored in an oil sump, capable of preventing the compressor oil from being lifted from the oil surface by swirling of the fluid generated in the rotary part and included again in the fluid. SOLUTION: A cylindrical barrier wall 21 is formed so that the ends of a drive shaft 11 provided with fluid passages 22 and 23 in positions near the discharge port 24 are covered as leaving the gaps (a) and (b), and a plurality of blade-form barrier walls 30 are provided as stretching outward in the radial direction and in the axial direction from the peripheral surface. The fluid compressed by a compressor part 4 flows as shown by Arrow, and the oil included at the time of passing the gaps between components of a motor part 3 is separated to stay in an oil sump 25 situated under. The blade-form barrier walls 30 separate the oil remaining in the fluid and hinders the fluid from swirling caused by rotation of a rotor 20, so that the oil is precluded from lifting together.
