PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feedforward amplifier with a high efficiency and a wide operating bandwidth at a low cost. SOLUTION: The feedforward amplifier 40A hag a splitter 42 that receives an input signal, an amplitude adjustment device 44, a phase adjustment device 46, a main amplifier 50, a voltage controlled equalizer 48 that compensates its frequency characteristic of the amplifier 50 in advance, a directional coupler 52, a sbutractor 56, a 1st delay unit 54 connected to the splitter 42, a cancellation detector 70 connected to the sbutractor 56, and an equalizer controller 72 that controls the voltage controlled equalizer 48, and also an amplitude adjustment device 58 connected to the sbutractor 56, a phase adjustment device 60, a fixed equalizer 62, a correction amplifier 64, a combiner 66 connected to a delay unit 68 and a correction amplifier 64, a pilot signal detector 69 and the 2nd delay unit 68 connected to a pilot signal detector 69 and the coupler 52. The fixed equalizer 62 is an equalizer for frequency response for a broad band circuit.
