SCANNER DEVICE AND NOISE REMOVAL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a satisfactory picture with less noise by removing the noise of a noticed picture element by subtracting an average error value from the value of the noticed picture element. SOLUTION: A shading correction part 4 normalizes the dispersion of the sensitivity of a sensor element, the dispersion of illumination to an original and dispersion owing to an optical system with a white picture which is previously taken in as a reference and removes the dispersion of the factors. A memory transfer part 5 transfers picture data to a memory 6 from the output of the shading correction part 4 and the result of a shift quantity detection part 12, and a processing part 7 processes the picture and removes noise. The values of plural upper/lower picture elements in an auxiliary scanning direction against a noticed picture element are weighted/averaged and the temporary estimation values of the picture elements are obtained. A difference between the value of the picture element and the virtual estimation value is obtained and the temporary estimation value exceeding a prescribed value is removed. The values are averaged on a main scanning line and an average error value is obtained. The noise of the noticed picture element is removed by subtracting the average error value from the value of the noticed picture element.
