PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure safety preservation by forming an egg container and an egg holder being set on the inside of the door of a refrigeration compartment of synthetic resin containing an antibacterial component and providing a cover at the opening of the egg container thereby suppressing growth and proliferation of microorganisms, e.g. salmonella, adhering to the surface of egg. SOLUTION: A plurality of rows of holes 7 for inserting an egg 6 partially are arranged on the upper surface of a holder 5 being contained in an egg container 4 so that a plurality of eggs can be held. Synthetic resin compositional material of the egg container 4 or the holder 5, e.g. acryl butadiene, polystyrene, polyethylene or polypropylene, is admixed with 1.0-5.0 wt.% of an antibacterial agent, e.g. iodine resin, and imparted with antibacterial properties. The iodine resin is formed of anion exchange resin bonded with a cation group, e.g. a quarternary ammonium group. Growth and proliferation of microorganisms adhering to the surface of an egg can be suppressed by antibacterial action of iodine.
