PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the supporting structure of the sliding door capable of preventing the falling of the sliding door without damaging workability on the assembly of the sliding door. SOLUTION: A bracket 3 in which front-rear ends 32, 33 are fixed onto an upper guide rail 2A and an intermediate section 31 is separated at a fixed opening to the upper guide rail 2A is disposed onto the external side face of the upper guide rail 2A just above the notched section 22 of the upper guide rail 2A. A stopper 4 for preventing the falling of the sliding door is engaged with the bracket 3 by utilizing the opening between the bracket 3 and the upper guide rail 2A. The stopper 4 is composed of a tabular body section 41 inserted into the opening between the bracket 3 and the upper guide rail 2A, a bent section 42 formed in a shape approximately coinciding with the flange 21 of the upper guide rail 2A at the lower end of the main body section 41 and retaining pawls 43, 43 for preventing slipping-off formed to sections projected from the opening at the upper end of the main body section 41.
