PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of a separator caused by oxidation when used in an organic solvent electrolyte battery or capacitor by forming an inorganic thin film on the surface of at least a positive electrode side of a porous membrane or nonwoven fabric made of whole aromatic polyamide. SOLUTION: An electrode separating layer made of an inorganic thin film is formed on both surfaces or one surface directly coming in contact with a positive electrode made of lithium cobaltate for example of a separator made of whole polyamide represented by the formula, with high heat-resistance, high strength, and economical cost to increase electrochemical oxidation resistance. The insulating inorganic oxide thin film having a surface resistance of 1 TΩor more has at least one oxide of Si, Mg, Al, Ca, Ti, Zn, and Sn as the main component from the standpoint of insulation, economy, and productivity, and has a thickness of 10-200 nm from the standpoint of effect, uniformly forming, and flexibility. In the formula, R1, R2 represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 5 or less carbon atoms, Ar1, Ar2 represent ortho-, meta-, or para- phenylene group, 1.4, 1.5, or 2.6 naphthylene group, 2.5 pyridylene group, or a specified divalent aromatic group.
