PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receptacle with a bridge function or the like that can reduce the bridge function in the case of extending a home network, prevent a defect due to interruption of transmission of packets caused by extension/ deletion of an IEEE 1394 device, and attain remarkable improvement on the degree of freedom of works or the like. SOLUTION: The receptacles 3a-3d with a bridge function are placed between a wall network 1 configured in compliance with the IEEE 1394 standards and local buses 2a-2d to relay data. Furthermore, each of the receptacles 3a-3d stores a receptacle ID to specify all the receptacles with the bridge function including its own receptacle connected in the network to a register 371 and stores an actual physical ID, to specify IEEE 1394 devices 7 connected to itself and to the local bus (2a-2d) to which itself is connected, to a register 372.
