PURPOSE: An apparatus for changing the driving direction of a bicycle by intermittent friction is provided to drive a bicycle by selectively using a lever, to optimize the traveling efficiency when traveling forward by backward driving, and to prevent the breakage of gear teeth by using intermittent friction. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for changing the driving direction of a bicycle by intermittent friction comprises a driven sprocket housing(20) movably combined to a hub shaft(100), an idle gear(400) rotating by interlocking with a gear(21) formed on the front end of the driven sprocket housing, a first carrier(300) for rotatably supporting the idle gear by using a rotating shaft(40) as a supporting point, a ring gear(500) engaged with the idle gear, a third pole(630) installed on the outer face of the ring gear, a driving unit(A) consisting of a third ratchet member(530) for transmitting power to a hub shell(200), a backward driving change unit(B) for rotating the driving unit idly, backwardly and forwardly by the operation of a lever(30) slidably installed on the hub shaft, and a second ratchet member(520) for supporting the backward driving change unit. |
