MOLDING MATERIAL AND PREPARATION OF MOLDED ARTICLE AND MOLDED ARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a molding material capable of obtaining molded articles having excellent chemical resistance and mechanical strength even when the melt kneading step is omitted and the molding is conducted at the conventional molding temperature of an atactic polystyrene in molding a styrenic polymer, a process for producing molded articles by using the molding material which shortens the molding cycle to reduce the production cost, and its molded articles. SOLUTION: The molding material is composed of a dry blend of (A) 10-95 wt.% styrenic polymer having an atactic structure and (B) 5-90 wt.% styrenic polymer mainly having a syndiotactic structure which has a melting point of not higher than 245 deg.C and a weight average molecular weight of not greater than 200,000. A process for producing molded articles comprises molding this molding material at a resin temperature of not higher than 260 deg.C and a molded product is obtained by this process.
