<p>A database system comprises server units including a control section and storage means and a gateway. If data stored in one of the server units contains an error, the gateway detects the error and instructs the control section of the server unit, out of the other server units, where the data (data to be restored) has been stored to restore the data according to the redundancy. The instructed server unit reads the data from its hard disk, transfers it to another server unit where normal data is stored, and stores the data in the storage means.</p> |
