PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURE OF CELLULOSE DERIVATIVES

PURPOSE: Provided is a process for manufacturing cellulose derivatives having various substituents and various DS-values by converting cellulose without detectable depolymerization of the cellulose in a high frequency electromagnetic field. CONSTITUTION: The process for manufacturing the cellulose derivatives contains: activating the cellulose; reacting the cellulose with one or more reagents, optionally in the presence of a suspension, in an electromagnetic field having a frequency of 10MHz-23GHz at 20-150deg.C for 1-120 minutes; isolating the cellulose derivatives and eliminating salts and by-products.
