PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a digital recorder capable of simultaneously performing low bit rate recording allowing transmission in a short time even on a transmitting route with low data transmitting speed and high bit rate recording with which a high tone quality audio signal can be reproduced. SOLUTION: This digital recorder is provided with a sampling means for obtaining sampled data by sampling the signal, a recording control means for recording these sampled data to a recording medium, and a control means for dividing the sampled data to a plurality of sampled data groups having a plurality of sampling frequencies and for controlling the above recording control means so as to record the sampled data of the plurality of sampled data groups to the different areas on the recording medium or different recording media.
