PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tonneau cover device for a vehicle covering the upper opening of a luggage room behind a rear seat, improving the operability by being interlocked with a back door, having a simplified structure, and reducing the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: Sliders 50 slid in the longitudinal direction on both sides of the luggage room interlockingly with the opening/closing action of the back door 2 and a drive system of the sliders 50 are employed, the rear end edge of a tonneau cover body is fitted to the sliders 50, the tonneau cover body is operated according to the sliding actions of the sliders 50, thus the winding mechanism of a tonneau cover used in the past is abolished. A wire connected to the back door 2 is wound by a winder 40, and the sliders 50 are reciprocated by another wire wound by the winding section of the winder 40 as the drive system of the sliders 50. A drum 60 is synchronously rotated by the rotative drive in the forward/reverse direction of a drive motor 61, and the sliders 50 are reciprocated in the longitudinal direction by the wire 63 or a circulating belt 72.
