METHOD FOR DISCRIMINATING VALUABLE MATERIAL FROM USED PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method of using printed circuit boards as raw materials in recycling the printed circuit boards and using a laser beam to recover valuable materials from the printed circuit boards. SOLUTION: The printed circuit boards are cut to 1 to 10 cm square and the cut printed circuit boards are then pulverized to 1μm to 1 mm by using a pulverizing machine of a ball impact type. The resultant pulverized materials are molded to a desired shape at need and the moldings are roasted at 300 to 1,000 deg.C. The roasted materials are pulverized to 10 to 500μm by using the pulverizing machine of the ball impact type and the pulverized materials are separated by magnetic separation to magnetic materials and nonmagnetic materials. The nonmagnetic materials are classified by gravity separation to the magnetic materials, the heavy nonmagnetic materials and the lightweight nonmagnetic materials which are respectively molded to obtain targets. The targets are irradiated with the laser beam of the desired wavelength, by which the valuable materials are vaporized and the desired elements are recovered.
