PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card reader and a mobile device having the same. SOLUTION: The card reader is provided with a reader body (12) having a contact terminal (32) which regulates a support area (30) of a card. The reader body (12) is provided with a tab (34) to be extended by being partially faced to the support area (30) and to hold the card on one side of the support area (30). The reader also includes a lock to hold the card including a movable latch (52) to hold the card. The latch (52) is movable between a holding position and a releasing position of the card. The latch (52) is an integrated part of the reader body (12) and is applied to the card reader for a portable telephone.
