<p>PURPOSE: A mobile telecommunication system with a CN(Core Network) having a separation structure and a signaling method thereby are provided to offer a CN having a separation structure in a packet switching domain. CONSTITUTION: An SGSN(Serving GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) Support Node) server is connected with a UTRAN(Universal mobile Telecommunication service Terrestrial Radio Access Network) through a signaling interface(lu). The SGSN server is connected with a GGSN(Gateway GSN) server by a signaling interface(Gn-c). The SGSN server executes session management, mobility management, a GTP(GPRS Tunneling Protocol)-C end point function, a MAP end point function, a RANAP end point function, S-MGW(SGSN-Media GateWay) selection, S-MGW control, etc. An S-MGW, connected with the UTRAN through a data transmission interface(A/Gb), switches user packet data, provided from the UTRAN, to a G-MGW. In this case, the S-MGW converts the user packet data into the form of a GTP-U PDU and outputs the converted data to the G-MGW. Also the S-MGW, connected with the G-MGW through a data transmission interface(Nb/Gn-u), switches packet data, provided from the G-MGW, to the UTRAN in order to provide the data to an arbitrary user. The SGSN server and the S-MGW are connected through a newly defined interface(Mc).</p> |
