PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid bearing apparatus which can remove a cause for bearing lube oil starvation brought about by reduction of bearing area with dislocation between dynamic pressure generation grooves and bearing forming plane due to dispersion in machining accuracy of a shaft and a sleeve and then by decline of bearing rigidity and also by a force to push out lube oil toward outside of the bearing. SOLUTION: By setting the axial length of the plane constituting the bearing opposing to the dynamic pressure generation grooves longer than the dynamic pressure generation grooves at least by the magnitude of the dislocation, the reduction of bearing area and the decline of the bearing rigidity due to the dislocation can be prevented, and the bearing lube oil starvation caused by the force to push out the lube oil to the outside of the bearing can be prevented from occurring.
