BREAKER FOR FIBROUS CUSHIONING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breaker for a fibrous cushioning material, which is capable of fibrillating the fibrous cushioning material while reducing the cutting of fibers of the material to a minimum. SOLUTION: This breaker is provided with: a hopper 2 for receiving a fibrous cushioning material; a supporting plate which is used for slidably supporting the hopper 2 and has plural slits 5 formed opposite to the hopper 2; and a beater 6 which has fibrous cushioning material scraper edges and is placed on the opposite side to the hopper 2 while interposing the supporting plate between them, wherein each of the scraper edges of the beater 6 partly projects from the corresponding one of the slits 5, to successively scrape the fibrous cushioning material and to obtain a fibrous material in the form of bulky masses.
