PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which makes the balance between read and storing time at high-resolution time and low resolution compatible with high-speed read at low-resolution time. SOLUTION: The image data of photodiode rows arranged in parallel with each other at an interval (n) are transferred to shift registers and successively shifted to output buffers at first, second, and third transfer clocksϕ1,ϕ2, andϕ3. At the time of shifting the image data, only signals to which adjacent elements in even-numbered element rows are added can be outputted successively by the transfer clocksϕ1,ϕ2, andϕ3 and a reset pulse RS, so that the clocksϕ2 andϕ3 may become opposite in phase at the same frequency and the frequencies of the clockϕ1 and pulse RS may become twice as high as those of the clocksϕ2 andϕ3. In addition, the frequencies of the transfer clocks and a reset clock can be quadrupled and the storing time of each line can be quartered while the transfer speed to a RAM is maintained as it is.
