PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic field generator inhibiting the vibration of a gradient coil, and a magnetic resonance imaging device having such a magnetic field generator. SOLUTION: Support members 162 and 164 are arranged on both sides of a gradient coil portion 106 in the direction of force acting on the gradient coil when it carries a current. Granules 200 are packed between the gradient coil and each support member and the vibration energy of the gradient coil is converted to heat of friction among the granules, which is then absorbed to inhibit the vibration of the gradient coil.
