PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transport device including an image forming means and transcribing means wherein a control to change the sheet transporting speed is conducted using a register roller and the vibrations of each sheet and a motor for driving feed rollers are precluded from being transmitted to the image forming means and transcribing means and to offer an image forming device equipped with such sheet transport device. SOLUTION: The image forming device is typically equipped with a register roller installed upstream of the transcribing means about the sheet transporting direction and capable of controlling the sheet transporting speed and a transporting means installed upstream of the register roller about the sheet transporting direction, wherein the register roller makes transportation of sheets at a speed higher than the image forming speed at which the image forming means performs transportation while it forms images on the sheet and is decelerated till the image forming speed before the sheet attains the transcribing means.
