METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ANTI-REFLECTION POLYMERIC MATERIAL

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an anti-reflection polymeric material is provided to improve the optical performance of polymeric materials by dispersing a nano-particulate filler into a host material and coating the product with an anti-reflection material. CONSTITUTION: The method of manufacturing an anti-reflection polymeric article comprises the steps of: selecting a plastic host material having an index of refraction n; dispersing a nano-particulate filler in the plastic host material to form a nano-composite material having an index of refraction n1; fabricating an article from the nano-composite material; and applying a quarter wave coating having an index of refraction n2 to the article to form an anti-reflection plastic material having a percent reflection of zero.
