PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform bioremediation without generating an offensive odor. SOLUTION: This contaminant decomposing system 1 comprises an air suction pipe 4 which is disposed so as to be made to communicate with the inside of contaminated soil 3 which contains contaminants and is evenly laid over concrete covered surface 2, a suction pump 5 connected to the forward end of the air suction pipe, and a deodorizing apparatus 6 connected to the outlet side of the suction pump. As the contaminated soil 3 contains contaminants to be bioremediated, various offensive odors are generated from the inside of the contaminated soil 3 during the bioremediation. The deodorizing apparatus 6 removes substances causing these offensive odors, from air sucked from the inside of the contaminated soil 3 by the suction pump 5 through the air suction pipe 4.
