PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a hologram micro-optical element array, containing a plurality of optical elements formed by minute holograms and to easily design or to change the characteristics of each optical element. SOLUTION: The hologram micro optical element array is manufactured by forming a plurality of minute holograms which constitute optical elements in a hologram layer 3 of a hologram medium 1, while changing the irradiation position of the object light and referential light on the hologram medium 1. The characteristics of each optical element are controlled by controlling the objective light and reference light which is irradiated on the hologram medium 1.
