PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method which facilitates the management and maintenance of passwords. SOLUTION: A system 10 is provided, which sets a plurality of categories and also sets a single or a plurality of pieces of information familiar to the person oneself as password elements by the categories. Respective extracted password elements classified by categories extracted from the categories at random are displayed on a display device 17 in irregular order with a plurality of scramble elements. A selection password element familiar to the person oneself is selected out of the displayed ones. When all selected password elements match the previously set extracted password elements, the person is authenticated. |
