PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch suitable for an optical communication system wherein power consumption is small, moreover a high speed response is possible, also miniaturization and high integration are possible, moreover attenuation of signals is highly reduced and further switching is performedly every inputted specific light. SOLUTION: The switch is provided with optical transmission passages 2, 4 and 5 consisting of an optical waveguide body, which are provided being directed to at least three directions, an optical path changing part 8 is brought into contact with or spaced apart from the light reflecting surface 1a of an optical transmission part 1 by the displacement of an actuator part 14 corresponding to an external signal, and an optical path through which light 21 inputted into the optical transmission passage 2 is transmitted to the output side specific optical transmission passage 4 by being totally reflected by the light reflecting surface 1a of the optical transmission part 1 is switched to other optical path through which light 21 inputted into the optical transmission passage 2 is taken out to a light introducing member 9 and is transmitted to the output side specific optical transmission passage 5 by being totally reflected by a light reflecting member 10. |
