摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve high rate discharge property of a control valve type lead storage battery by improving utilization factor of a negative electrode board of the battery at high-rate discharging. SOLUTION: In a control valve type load storage battery which has a value of ratio (S/V) of a total sum S of negative electrode plate apparatus surface area to polar plate group volume (V) of not less than 3.0 cm-1, the content ratio of lignin in a negative electrode active material is to be not less than 0.15 mass % to the negative electrode active material, or, optimally from 0.15 to 0.50 mass %.
