PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely position at a reference place a photographic material to be carried along a paper carrying path to a paper charging part or a recording position without giving damage to the edge of recording paper. SOLUTION: When the photographic material 22 in a magazine is fed out into a device, a width guide mechanism 100 sets an opening width B1 between width guide members 106, 107 to be the maximum width and width guide mechanisms 102, 104 set an opening width B2 between the width guide members 106, 107 to be the width of the photographic material 22 corresponding to a paper width, for example, a paper width±0.1 mm. When the photographic material 22 extending into the paper carrying path is rolled back into the magazine, the width guide mechanisms 100, 104 set an opening width B3 between the width guide members 106, 107 to be the width of the photographic material 22 corresponding to the paper width and the second width guide mechanism 102 sets an opening width B2 between the pair of width guide members 106, 107 to be the maxim width.
