PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance measuring device which detects distances up to a plurality of objects by detecting beams of reflected pulsed light from two objects with reference to one sent light beam and which can separate and detect the two objects even when the two objects come close in such a way that the respective beams of reflected pulsed light are overlapped. SOLUTION: The beams of reflected pulsed light with reference to one sent light beam are amplified by a plurality of amplifiers (22a, 22b) of different gains, and retroreflection times of a plurality of beams of reflected pulsed light are detected by retroreflection-time detection means (30a, 30b) connected to the amplifiers. By using outputs of the plurality of retroreflection-time detection means, a distance calculation means (40) judges the overlapped state and the reflection intensity of the beams of reflected pulsed light on the basis of first pulse widths of the beams of reflected pulsed light, it selects a distance calculation method according to the state, and it outputs distance measured data of high reliability.
